Lukky for local shops

A giveaway set up between two customers, with a prize collected in the shop.

In short

A local shop has neither budget nor time, and its giveaway is worthless if nobody walks in. Lukky’s free plan is enough: one draw a week, a public certificate, a video to post. Make the prize collectable in the shop and the giveaway turns into a visit.

A local giveaway is not judged on comment count. It is judged on how many people push the door open. Everything else — reach, followers, engagement — only matters if it ends there.

The one rule that matters: the prize is collected in person

A voucher posted out brings nobody in. A prize collected in the shop brings the winner in, usually with someone else, usually on a Saturday, and they rarely leave with only the prize.

The same logic decides the prize itself: something you actually sell, at its real price, named in the post. A vague prize attracts giveaway hunters who will never come back; a specific one attracts people who already wanted to buy it.

How long it takes

Time is the real constraint in a shop, not budget.

Posting a photo of the prize with the rules: five minutes. Letting it run seven to ten days, doing nothing. On draw day, opening the app, choosing the post, drawing: two minutes. Posting the video of the draw and the certificate link: three minutes.

Ten minutes in total, spread over ten days. No platform to configure, no page to build, no form to proofread.

The free plan is enough

One draw a week, one winner, unlimited entries, no card, certificate included. For a shop running a giveaway a month or once a season, there is no reason to pay.

Pro at €9.99 only makes sense if you move to several giveaways a week or want multiple winners. The pricing page sets out the difference.

What not to do

Requiring a story share or a friend tag to enter. Meta's rules forbid it, and enforcement can reach removing the page — the same page that is your shop window.

Announcing the winner with no proof. In a neighbourhood, the rumour that a giveaway was fixed travels faster than the post. The certificate can also be printed and pinned up by the till: it costs nothing and nobody does it.

Drawing too late. A giveaway announced on a Tuesday and drawn the following Friday keeps its audience. Three weeks later, entrants have forgotten they entered, and the winner takes days to reply.

Running it when the shop is closed. Draw on a day you are open, and say in the announcement when the prize can be collected. A winner who reads their name on a Sunday evening and cannot come in until Wednesday loses half the excitement, and you lose the visit you ran the giveaway for.

FAQ

Do I have to pay to run a shop giveaway?
No. The free plan runs one draw a week with one winner, certificate included.
Can I ask people to share to their story?
Not as a condition of entry: Meta's rules forbid it. Asking for a comment is allowed.
How long should a local giveaway run?
Seven to ten days. Shorter and the post has not finished circulating; longer and early entrants have forgotten.
Do I need official rules?
Strongly advised as soon as the prize has real value. The rules generator drafts a set from your description.
