1. Describe the ending in the field: what the giveaway was, how many people entered, who won, how the winner was drawn, what the prize is, and what comes next. "Giveaway of a silver necklace, 412 entries, winner @ana.b drawn with Lukky, thank everyone and announce the next one in March" is enough. Fifteen characters minimum.
2. Generate. The announcement appears in a few seconds.
3. Copy it, paste it as a post, a story or a pinned comment, and fix what is not yours. "Start again" gives a new draft from a changed description.

It should answer the three questions every entrant has: who won, was it fair, and what do I do now. In that order:

• The winner's handle, spelled as on their profile.
• How the winner was picked: at random, on what date, with what tool, and a link to the certificate if the draw produced one.
• How many people entered, which shows the odds were real.
• A thank-you to everyone who entered, tagged or shared.
• How the winner is contacted: by direct message from your account only, and how long they have to answer, 48 or 72 hours, before an alternate is drawn.
• What comes next: the next giveaway, a discount for entrants, a launch.

The warning about contact matters more than it looks. After every giveaway, fake accounts copying the organizer's name message entrants asking for shipping fees or card numbers. One line saying "we will never ask for a payment, and we only write from this account" protects your entrants and your name.

Within 48 hours of the end date announced in the rules, and after contacting the winner privately first, so that the public post does not name someone who turns out to be ineligible. Announce it where the giveaway ran: a pinned comment under the original post reaches everyone who entered, a story reaches everyone who follows, and a new post keeps the record visible.

If the winner does not answer within the delay set in the rules, draw an alternate and announce it the same way. That is what the alternates of the random name picker are for when the draw was made from a list.

An announcement is only as convincing as the draw behind it.
